Primary tutoring, SATs support and 11+ preparation
Supportive English and Maths tutoring for KS2 pupils, with focused Year 6 SATs and 11+ preparation from an experienced primary teacher.
English, Maths, SATs & 11+ Tutor
I’m a Year 6 teacher and English Lead at Furzedown Primary School, with first-hand experience of what children need to succeed in upper Key Stage 2. I understand the pressure points of Year 6, the expectations of the KS2 curriculum, and the skills children need to feel confident in English, Maths, SATs and 11+ preparation.
My role as English Lead means I do more than teach individual lessons. I help shape high-quality reading and writing across the school. I bring that same clarity, structure and ambition to tutoring, breaking learning down carefully so children can make progress, build independence and feel proud of what they can do.
Sessions are calm, focused and encouraging, combining strong classroom expertise with personalised support. Whether your child needs a confidence boost, targeted SATs or 11+ preparation, or help strengthening core skills, I plan tutoring around their needs and teach in a way that makes learning feel achievable.
Tutoring offered
Layng Learning offers personalised KS2 tutoring with a focus on English, Maths, SATs, 11+ preparation and confidence-building.
My approach
Tutoring works best when children feel safe enough to try, make mistakes and improve. I break learning into manageable steps, model clearly, practise together, then help children apply skills independently.
What sessions can include
Safety & Professional Standards
At Layng Learning, children’s safety, confidence and wellbeing are central to every session.
Families can expect clear communication, professional boundaries and carefully planned support tailored to each child’s needs. Enhanced DBS information, public liability insurance details, safeguarding procedures and parent terms are available before tutoring begins.
Before a child starts tutoring, parents and carers will be asked to complete a short information form so that sessions can be safe, personalised and purposeful.
